Manufacturers across the Czech Republic say they found a special seminar showing the competitive advantage of using EDGECAM to drive Tajmac-ZPS CNC machines equipped with Sandvik tools, to be particularly valuable.
Organised by EDGECAM’s reseller in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Nexnet a.s., in conjunction with Tajmac-ZPS and Sandvik, the two-day seminar attracted over 150 manufacturers. It featured live machining demonstrations, including the revolutionary Waveform Roughing Strategy introduced in EDGECAM 2012 R1 which gives a higher cutting speed with constant removal of material to the full depth of the cutting tool. This leads to more accurate and faster material removal, putting less load on the machines and instruments.
As well as the practical demonstrations, the seminar featured a series of talks on EDGECAM’s overall functionality, along with its 5-axis machining capability, and Sandvik’s array of tooling.
Delegates say the seminar gave them the opportunity to see practical examples of the new functionality available in EDGECAM 2012 R1.
Josef Václavik, representing Preciosa a.s. says it showed how machining technology can help take businesses to the next level in the future. “We’ve been working with Nexnet since 2009, and earlier this year expanded our existing EDGECAM license for additional modules, which we’re now using to program all our CNC machines.”
And Lenka Otrusinová, of Otrusina s.r.o. says “The seminar was especially valuable for everyone working in the field of mechanical engineering and mechanical production. For Otrusina s.r.o. it was particularly useful in showing us developments in EDGECAM and machine tools.”
NEXNET provides full solutions for programming of CNC machines through sales and technical support of CAD/CAM and custom machine tool production. As well as EDGECAM, they also work with manufacturers who use other software from the Vero stable – Radan, Alphacam and Cabinet Vision – providing a full service including technical support and training for their extensive network of commercial and contractual partners across the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Says Nexnet marketing manager Petra Slatinová: “We have many years experience in mechanical engineering, which means we can readily understand customers’ problems and provide an active solution.”
